What is a chainsaw?

A chainsaw is a petrol or electrically powered cutting tool, designed to saw through timber either for firewood and logs, clearing underbrush, for the removal of saplings, pruning and limbing or even, with large models, the felling of full sized trees.  Time and labour saving, they can cut through wood very fast.

Chainsaws are both simple and complex. Simple in that they are functional – a saw attached to an engine with a handle and complex in that there are many features and functions that aid the work of the saw.

Chainsaws come in a variety of sizes and types and vary in power and features.
